Hello! My name is Yuriko Oto and I’m a visual development artist and painter, currently at Sony Pictures Animation on a feature film in development. I am originally from Nagoya, Japan, raised among cows and bicycles in Davis, CA, and graduated from San José State University in 2017 with a BFA in Animation/Illustration.

Past credits include:

• Nickelodeon (The Plankton Movie, Spongebob Squarepants)

• Dreamworks Animation (Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken)

• Rick and Morty LLC (Solar Opposites Season 2)

• Dreamworks TV (Where’s Waldo?, Archibald’s Next Big Thing)

Outside of art, I am usually in the mountains backpacking, scrambling, climbing, skiing, canyoneering, whitewater kayaking, or whatever outdoor hobby I decide to pick up next. I also have a collection of kimonos (traditional Japanese dress) that I like to wear every opportunity I get.
